Edinburgh Castle

Standing on Castle Rock (an extinct volcano), Edinburgh Castle is one of the oldest fortified places in Europe. It overlooks the gorgeous Princes Street Gardens which blossom with marvelous blooms in spring and bright colors in Autumn. The gardens below are a 10 minute walk from the College and up to the castle is about 15 minutes.

Circus Lane 

A picturesque cobbled street in Edinburgh. This hidden gem is a residential street with pretty flower-covered terraced mews houses, which is only a 10 minute walk from the College.

Arthur's Seat & Calton Hill 

Arthur's Seat is yet another extinct volcano in Edinburgh. With wonderful views over the city, it's a fantastic location for photos or an adventurous stroll. Calton Hill is slightly closer and also offers a unique view over Princes Street & Edinburgh and is home to the Collective contemporary art gallery and the unfinished National Monument.

Victoria Street & Old Town

This magical street was the inspiration for "Diagon Alley" in Harry Potter. The colorful shopfronts and gorgeous Old Town surroundings make it a wonderful spot for photos or just to explore.

Queen Street Gardens 

These private gardens are quiet spot to catch the cherry blossoms in spring or the autumn leaves in October and November. The College has special access for weddings and the gardens are just across the street, a 2 minute walk.

Dean Village 

Only 10 minutes away from the College, this beautiful oasis is filled with spectacular old buildings and the beautiful Water of Leith. It's also close to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
